TP-LINK TL-MR3420 3G/4G router is best suited for small home offices and small family use. This router supports IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11g and 802.11b standards which allows it to transmit up to 300 megabits per second. Make sure that your devices support 802.11n standard and will work with this router. Most recent smartphones and tablets typically support it but it worth to check manual.
Most important feature of TL-MR3420 3G/4G is support for 3G and 4G/LTE USB modems. So if you don't have a wired connection at home or just want to use 3G/4G connection as a backup this router is a great choice for you.
This router has 1 WAN port and 4 external Ethernet ports. It has 2 antennas and connects on 2.4-2.4835GHz frequencies. Transmission power is not bad but may be limited if you have several walls between your devices and this router. But still this router transmission power will be enough for most of the home network and small office setups.
Compatibility with various USB modems should be quite good since TP-LINK claims that they test this router with USB modems specific to countries where they are sold. This was also confirmed during our testing.
